Drug intelligence / Profile preview
[⁶¹Cu]Cu-NODAGA-LM3 (also known as 61Cu-TraceNET or 61Cu-NU201) is a novel copper-61-labeled somatostatin receptor subtype 2 (SSTR2) antagonist developed by Nuclidium in collaboration with the University of Basel. It is designed as a positron emission tomography (PET) imaging agent for the detection, staging, and management of SSTR2-positive tumors, including gastroenteropancreatic and bronchopulmonary neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs and BP-NETs) as well as metastatic breast cancer. By utilizing cyclotron-produced copper-61, which has a 3.3-hour half-life, the tracer allows for delayed imaging and centralized distribution. It offers superior spatial resolution and count statistics compared to gallium-68-based agents, and demonstrates lower physiological background uptake in organs like the liver and spleen, thereby improving tumor-to-background contrast and lesion detection. It is developed as the diagnostic companion to the therapeutic agent 67Cu-TraceNET (67Cu-NODAGA-LM3) under Nuclidium's SSTR2-targeted theranostic program.
